I have been approached my an architect who is building an eco-friendly, aesthetically pleasing building for his main office. He designs and builds high value homes aimed at the upper end of the market.

He has asked me to find him a solution for the Zinc roof that he plans on installing. The main issue with this is aesthetics. I am currently thinking that a BIPV system may be the only way to go but has anyone got any other suggestions they'd like to throw my way?

Thanks in advance.

That's going to be interesting...............

Actually I don't it will be that difficult ;-) Stepped roof detail to the depth of the rails and modules at the top and sides with the bottom open would be the easiest otherwise you will have to have some type of gutter detail that will be expensive. Make sure there are extra standing seams clips added to the sheets then you can use standing seam clamps to take the rails.

I like this idea. I was thinking along these lines but with a proper BIPV system. I think your system would work better - both in terms of aesthetics and weatherproofing. I'm not sure how straightforward it would be to install zinc roofs with a stepped detail but I'm sure there must be a way.

Thanks for the suggestion.
