Is there such thing as a fused inline connection? Ie to connect two pieces of flex but with a fuse in the middle?

It's a BS1363 plug and trailing socket isn't it?
Presumably you were after something a bit more streamlined.

What do you want it for, anyway?
Why can't you just protect the flex at the origin, eg FCU?

Hi the scenario is, I've first and second fixed a number of kitchens for a company, originally they spec'ed floor standing units so I'll pulled in 6mm feed to isolator to connection unit. Now this has changed to desperate hob and oven. I've sorted a double connection unit but I need to sort the 13a fuse for the oven. Obviously a fcu is an option however what I propose is easier and cheaper giving the stage the kitchen is now at

i'd still be inclined to fit a twin conn. unit. FCU for oven on 1 side. only need to enlarge back box hole.

My thoughts entirely. Two minutes with a bolster and the problem's gone.

Why not just put a double socket and 2 plugs or cooker connection with socket, if one uses more than 13 amp.

why are people scared of chasing? if its rock solid/concrete, use a grinder and cut in groves to make it easier to cut out.

I cut in a gas and electricity meter box other day and was a piece of **** with decent grinder and sds

Eh, why do you need a 13A fuse for the oven, it'll be a fixed load so cannot overload, so providing the connecting cord is of an adequate size, (and it will be if factory fitted) all you need is the twin connection unit. Short circuit faults are protected against by the CU/DB protective device...

Think about it, the same oven will also be available in several countries apart from the UK, where local fusing isn't an option....
