Hi all,

I hope you can help, I'd like to extend a ring main into the an outbuilding and be able to isolate it if required.

I'll be using power tools and wanted about 4 double sockets in there so didn't want just a spur.

I've attached an image, is this an acceptable way of doing it.? The live and neutral wires would be joined where they enter the switch so as not to break the existing ring so the new ring will be taking power from both cables of the existing ring. Many thanks. Steve.

P. S When I say the live and neutral wires joined coming into the switch obviously I mean each side of the live joined and each side of the natural joined.
