Hi all,

just planning a kitchen and wanted to use a 3 gang grid switch instead of having multiple fcu around one area of kitchen.

I would propose to break into the ring from a nearby dbl skt down to grid switch (2 x 13a unswitched skts, 1 x 3a fuse carrier for hood).

Any advice ideas, is this suitable?

Please see rough diagram attached.

Can the addition to thr ring run back into the first dbl socket or does it need to go to the next point in circuit.

Many thanks in advance.

I would give serious consideration to trying to run a 4mm radial suitably protected. Run it straight to your grid switch back box (fit a deep one 35 or 45mm), and then drop 4mm down to each socket outlet.

Cheers........Howard

PS this work is notifiable if you didn't already know.

We do all ours on a grid.. Usually with the 8 gang square ones...

Labeled Hob, Fridge Freezer, Washing Machine and Hood switches along the top and underneath a 13a fuse holder for each spur.

I much prefer this to FCU's everywhere...

We're just doing new builds at the moment though, so fairly easily done.

I would take 4mm t&e out from the grid after breaking into the ring if ring is protected by 32A mcb
Or do it in 2.5mm t&e if you fuse each one as colin integrale says.
