Hi, looking for some adivce.

Looking to install a PV system, off grid. The output would solely be used for heating water. The system would be mounted at ground level, as roof mounting isn't really an option.

Were looking having a dual element cylinder fitted, one for solar, one for grid.

What I'm asking is, say the system was 3Kwp, but only producing roughtly 1.5kw, assuming the 3kw water heater was calling for heat, i'm guessing it would just take twice the time to heat up..? but that it would still function.

Thank you

We did consider that, however the panels and invertor can only me mounted some 40 odd meters away. do you think the system I proposed is feasable? thanks

Hard to say , but i would say no !
Could you not duct the pipe in some way , if you use the pre-insulated flexi pipe that is designed for solar it is very easy to manipulate and you could maybe insulate it again as well ?
