i am doing a quote for my first photovoltaic installation,
i am based in southwest england and have been asked to quote for a ground mounted system as we can get 3.96kw facing direct south.
when i did my pv course we did not learn anything about ground mounted systems. are there any special requirements compared to a roof mounted system.

also how do i work out the annual return for the customer, here are the details:

3.96kw installation at 41.3
south west england
they used 5500 units if electricity last year at 11.8p per unit
they are home around 65 per cent of the time

please help

Have a look on the REAL assurance website, there is some info there on how to prepare a quote, which includes payback etc.

Use your SAP calculations to work out estimated annual yield of array, multiply this by 41.3p to get Fit payment, then for savings/export work on 50/50, so 50% of yield x 3p for export tariff, 50% of yield x import cost gives saving (though as most electricity will be produced in summer it probably won't be quite as high as that.

Don't forget to use your disclaimer for written estimates of yield etc, as stated in MCS documents
