Looking at a board change, I used my plug tester to isolate an old ring circuit with a spur directly from the 3036 16amp fuse, just doing a few pre tests I found continuity on two live conductors (original ring in 7029), IR no problem. The spur had beed added in 2.5 T+E solid, feeding double socket and u/s fcu for outside light/pir. On removal from the fuse terminal, the red solid core snapped off, obviously having been scored badly during stripping. When the circuit was made live the plug tester showed a live/earth reversal. Why?
