...basically, I note the datasheet has Max Efficiency Figures and European Efficiency figures. Can anyone explain the difference?

Max efficiency will be the best it can do it 'laboritois garnier' conditions...i.e, it wont happen!

EE figures will be in the real world, to test conditions.

whats the difference you are seeing?
