Evening to all

Our Tesla doesn’t have a permanent 12V to any of the pins on its towing plug. Apparently this was done away with when they started installing the new batteries.

I’ve zero knowledge in car electrics and Tesla have said they’ve nothing planned for reinstating the 12V supply as it used to be.

Is there a simple enough way of doing this myself? Believe there’s a 12V cigarette lighter somewhere in the car.

TL;DR
Tesla 12v Tesla doesn’t have a permanent 12V to any of the pins on its towing plug
Sounds like it was a conscious decision.
Maybe having a permanent 12v feed drains the battery too quickly.

I’m surprised any electric vehicle has enough power to tow anything. Anything large that it needs a permanent 12v somewhere.

The car weighs 2 tonne and does 60mph in 3.5 seconds so it definitely has the power!

You can do approximately 90 miles I’d say with the caravan on the back before you have to charge the battery again.

They used to come with a 12v feed though, would have thought a newer battery would be better and still allow it.
