What is the standard spec for A/C Rotart Isolators in the UK market, mainly Air Con

I am electrical cable distributer so getting a little lost with the component side.
Looking to purchase some Rotary Isolators direct from a manufacturer and getting a little confused with the specs and certifications used in UK so wondered if anyone can help.
So far I know the following.
25 Amp 4Pole
32 Amp 4 Pole
They are the standard Grey with yellow and Red rotary switch.
They meet with IEC60947 .
Volage always for 415V

The above should be usable for single phase or 3 phase correct?

CB and SEMKO certification.

Can anyone tell me if this spec looks ok and also what's the difference between surface installation and Din Rail installation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sky The CB and SEMKO certification are "International" However the IEC 60947 is European. That is as far as I understand the rather strange and over complicated system. The best way for you is to Google the various standards and see if they are the same or at least comparable. Personally I would suspect that they are in all respects the same but who knows ther may be something spookily different. I started to read an explanation but lost the will to live so had to stop.

As for your question...if cost and space is not an issue then you can use 4 pole switch on single phase. Be aware that the neutral is for the neutral as it may break last.
