Right.

THIS THREAD on our tile forum has developed into a bit of a 'should I do a sky dive?' and 'should others too?' thread. [n.b. you'll need to read all the thread to get to the posts]

I'll be totally honest with you, not only do I hate heights, I height flying.

A sky dive is not only double scary, there's the other elements too, including jumping out of a plane (which I never got scared about until now, thinking about it, because why would you think about jumping out of a plane?!?!?!) and then of course landing with the chute open! Which the chances are similar to winning the lottery regarding if it open as all, and then if it does, whether that was in time to land alive with all limbs still working.

Now, I propose to you guys who all seem to be quite giving (probably due to the huge wages haha); if I jumped for charity, who else would with me? The more scared you are the better, as I'd make this a 6 month build up thing taking video's of us all beforehand to attract more charity funds. And you know for a fact that we'd get more cash if we all were scared to death and committed to this!

Give us your thoughts guys.

I've done it. And I'm itching to do it again. :)

I'm going to be upfront and to the point.

There is no way i will be jumping out of a plane as i near had a heart attack while doing a bungee.

But i would certainly donate a few quid.

where would it be mate? any ideas, i am always up for something new to try.
I don't know mate, I'd travel to Australia if I thought their dive was more guaranteed though! haha

But I hope it's perhaps sort of central UK, to attract the most attention possible.

Although that's cheating, and (hopefully) wouldn't attract more dive cash than a guy that's scared to death of doing it (I rate a 50% jump rate of all those who got in the plane would be more appealing to those giving cash away, and more funny on video later) I hope to go you come with us as any experienced guy should help those who are worried to do it.

I'm hoping to find some guys really scared of heights take on the role to make this collect A LOT of cash. That's all.

ALL ARE WELCOME THOUGH - IF YOU DARE!

sounds good. i will get a sponsor sheet typed up and see how many local businesses i can get to donate. any idea of the costs anyone who has done it before.

I'm sure I'll be able to work out decent rates for this. I know of a firm that does it for £70's worth minimum of proceeds, but they use their own charities. I think with a larger income, I may be able to use our charities if a percentage went to their own.

Oooh crikey now you're asking. My jump was a few years ago at white waltham, Berks. It was a fire brigade thing (I moonlight fighting fires when I'm fed up twisting wires).

We did the Lands End - John O' Groats thing on push bikes wearing breathng apparatus, followed by absailing off of the 3M building in Bracknell (it's high) and then three of us were still happy enough to jump out of a plane. It was all for the Anthony Nolan Trust as one of our fellow fire fighters was just recovering from leukaemia.

I'll see if I can find the lady who organised it and find out the costs of jumping.

Rate then. Sounds like I'm committed. Let's do it. :D

I'd love to do it with you guys but at 23 stone I wouldn't be allowed to. If I can help in any other way I will
