Yes I would agree purchase a good second hand unit rather than a cheap new unit. Give it a new set of leads and calibration and all's well.

Yes im only wanting a second hand one, I only want to spend about £200 on one as Itll not be something im using all the time

Screwfix would be the last place surely to pick up an MFT. The kewtech kt63 is £499 in there.
So they are  they must have been on offer when I last seen them I like the megger too much to buy kewtech though. Try A certain big national wholesaler if you really want a shock with the price of a kewtech 519.47+VAT:eek:

Looking on ebay at Metrels £150-200 they any good? The easitest range with the phase rotation

I have been using a MI3000 for 6 years. Great bit of kit. Like you say, features phase rotation and line-line pscc which are useful in commercial. Feature rich for the price and very reliable. Has never needed adjusting every calibration so far.
The only feature I wish it had is button free testing such as is featured with Megger MFTs.

no personal experience of metrel, but a mate has one and swears by it. if buying from fleabay, make sure seller has good feedback and that the mft is calibrated.
