Hi All,
I'm trying to calculate CCC & VD for H07RN-F Single core cable. Used for event powerlock runs.
TPN AC - Ref Method C - Flat & Touching
Table 4E1A/B covers Single Core 90*C thermosetting insulated cables, which I have used correction factors to convert these values to flexible cable but looking at the spec of our cable, its rated at 60*C Conductor Operating Temperature.
Is there another correction factor that I can apply to Tables 4E1A/B to reduce the characteristics to 60*C rated cable, or have I got the wrong end of the stick!
Many thanks

The 4F... tables are for flexible conductors.
If you still want to use rigid conductor cables tables to consider the installation method then at least 70°C tables would be better than 90°C.

Agree with wilko
Last time I done calcs for a similar scenario I got all the figures from prysmian directly

Table 4F1A is for CCC of 60° flexible cables.
Table 4F1B is for the VD

To expand on my above response the terminals in powerlock connectors aren't rated for 90 degree operation as far as I know so the 60 degree rating for the cable needs to be used.
Also I was told many years ago that the 60degree rating is used for this application because the cables are exposed to touch, I'm not fully convinced by this though as conductor temperature doesn't equal outer surface temperature.

.....I'm not fully convinced .... conductor temperature doesn't equal outer surface temp.
Unless a piece of styro-foam litter or a cat sleeps on it!
