I've got what seems a simple situation here that I am probably having a senior moment over. I am running a 3 core SWA to an outbuilding, it's overhead (catenary) then down internal wall into CU. The existing wiring is all in nice neat trunking into top of CU. Is there a fitting/gland that I can use inside the trunking to terminate the armour of the SWA onto a CPC to the MET? I can't fit a gland as there is a big cutout in the top of the CU the same size as the internal trunking aperture. I will be terminating the other conductors directly into the CU. Would it be OK under the circumstances (no stress on the cable) to just use a gland/banjo to extend the armour to the MET? It would be "floating" within the trunking?? I do not want to use T&E and then join this to the SWA anywhere prior to it leaving the building.

Either gland to the trunking, assuming its proper trunking (steel) or if it is wibbly wobbly plastic trunking fit a small adaptable box to gland the SWA into.
Alternatively use a galv through box to gland into.
