Just double checking that these are the right crimps for the job,
My new cooker needs to be connected by 6mm eyelet crimp connectors the ones I have found are Cable size: 4-6mm². Imax: 48A, am I correct in thinking that these are rated to 48amps and wound be fine on a 30amp double oven cooker?

Hi Simon: They should be fine as long as you get them from a reputable Electrical wholesaler, unfortunately there's a lot of cheap copy's around. You need to crimp them with a Ratchet crimper as well to give you a good connection. Don't be tempted to use 1 of the cheapy hand crimpers.

Yellow ring crimps Simon, correct. But no good unless you have a proper ratchet crimper. Otherwise you would get a loose connection. Loose connections = fire

Applied with one of these.....

Obtained from a reputable wholesaler

persuming your cooker is fed by a 4 or 6 mm cable, then yellows would be correct. The earths more than likely to be 2.5mm2 tho.

Thanks for the replies I have ordered them from screwfix I did try to ring them but they are closed for the holidays, I have a 4 way crimper/stripper that crimps 1.5 2.5 and 6m, I think I will splash out on a Ratchet crimper after all you cannot have to many tools

Thanks again for the help and have a happy new year

Your welcome Simon & your right about the tools. But don't tell my missus i said that lol.

By the way: Merry Christmas to you.
