Design Software

Hi,
Im new to this forum and this trade for that matter.

I have been working as an electrician previously but gave it up some time ago, only to get back involved this year. I am taking the exams at the mo and am quite interested in the design side of the trade and wondered if anyone had any thoughts or ideas that might be useful or recommend any decent software.

thanks chaps, I do have most of these books as supplied as part of the training course but fancied practicing with designing and building various scenarios using whatever software is suitable.

Amtech is the only electrical design software that I've come across and I actually prefer doing it the old fashioned way.

Another company to think about is GSN Technologies. They're based out of America, but the software is good. Cable Routing, Raceway Design, you name it...
