I need to put a network socket in some 50x50 metal trunking which already contains other circuits and as this is not segregated. Under the regs you cannot put in in just ordinary network cat 5e inside, i needs to be the upto the standards of 230V insulation?

Can anyone point me to where i might be able to get a hold of some or maybe a name for it?

Cheers
Ethan

there is a 50mm seperation requirement so that if the cable gets damaged you don,t send 240v down a data cable,if i were you i,d find another route, even if it goes wrong in a few years it could still come back to bite you.

or you could bung some 1/2" plastic mini-trunking inside the 2 x 2 for the cat5.

I thought it was fine to just had to have Cat5 to in same trunking aslong as it was to the same standard as the other 230V conductors? Id rather not fill the trunking or use flexi conduit, found some SWA ethernet so might use that!

Any cables that are within the trunking with power cables, must have insulation of equivalent rating (eg: 230 or 400 volts).

Yes, i explained how i knew this in the post, i was asking if this was available or what the name for the cable would be called etc this is what this thread is about.
I already understand that if i use un-segregated trunking, the cable has to be to the same standard of insulation as 230V cables.

As your question was, where? Try Minitran and speak to Domonic who'll be able to help you......other outlets available!

They do armoured cat5e.

Hope this helps
