Hi - looking for some guidance for my off-the-grid cabin.

I’m powering the main panel with 30amp generator plug. What wire do I use from the 30amp inlet plug to the main service for the panel? 10/3?

Also, I’m on bedrock and cannot drive a grounding rod into soil. How can I ground the panel? Thanks!

How far down before you hit bedrock?
Sometimes you can get away with laying your electrode horizontal, if you get down far enough.

And you should ground your generator too. The electrodes will have to be at least 6' from each other as well.

Get you a hammer drill and bore holes in to the bedrock for your grounding electrode. Since you are off grid, anything kind of metal will work. I seen a picture of a car hood in the ground for their grounding electrode. Get creative
