Maybe the screen is not terminated correctly at the coax outlet. Or perhaps the cable runs under floorboards and squashes it when you walk on it. I think you need to work back from the coax plug that goes into the rear of the tv.

The cable is above the TV but I'll recheck the connectors. Thanks

Sometimes other things can cause interference. Static in your body, fluorescent lights, microwaves etc etc.
not saying any of this IS the problem, but worth a thought.

I had a problem once when a tv cut out at almost the same time each night, just as it got dark.
There was a streetlight switching on across the road which was line of sight from transmitter to aerial.

i could be a ghost walking pasted it , i did not know they had house in Scotland i thought they lived in mud huts .lol
