Hey people.

Just a quick one I'm want to install a house alarm in my mum and dad's home

I have been sparking for 4 years (2 Years domestic and 2 years commercial) and have never installed a house alarm in my time.

So my question is which alarm is bang on for its money ??

and if it's possible can I have links to a alarm where I wouldn't need to chase out walls and one where i would need too.

Haven't decided which one I want to install yet

cheers in advance people

Accenta Gen4 is dead easy to set up and quality. But it is wired (but reasonably priced, you could get a door contact, bellbox,5 PIRs, cable and the panel & keypad for not much more than a ton).
But you will need to be a magician with the cables. Or at least lift a few carpets & boards and be clever with airing cupboards and understairs cupboards"....
s.

ps above alarm system is a proper alarm, won awards etc.

Id rather chew my hand off than fit some of the tat systems you can buy from the sheds etc.

Have a look at the Texecom premier elite 12W kit a good hybrid (wired and wireless) alarm at reasonable money.
Premier Elite Wireless Kits - Texecom
and as the other system mentioned a proper graded system don't touch the DIY rubbish.
Another wired system to consider is the Texecom veritas and the excel version has a LCD text keypad.

i'd deffo go with a hybrid. not used the texecom gear, but used the gardtech. sounders and keypads hard wired- all detectors wireless.

I have been installing the Texecom's for a while now the ricochet mesh is brilliant for signal strength as the detectors all talk to each other and relay signals where needed and the kit comes with a wireless door contact which auto detects which side the magnet is placed and has inputs for wired detection devices, 2 pet tolerant PIR's 5 setting fobs and a radio setting fob. just waiting for them to release the wireless bell. there are also options for pstn digi/text, GSM, and IP and comes with all required software just need the UDL lead.

Have a look at what's out there we will all have our preferred kit that we know and trust and most guys who do alarms will agree on the ones to avoid but argue over which one to use. Have a look at the different options for your application, budget, quality and look (we have all rejected stuff on looks no matter how good it may be) I am often in and around London if you need any help or just want to have a look / play with the Texecom kit
