Hi, would would be your thoughts on this one?
On the floor under the sink in my kitchen is a power cord that connects the small undersink water heater to the outlet.
It's the heater's power cord connected to a simple extension cord. The coupling of the extension cord lies directly on the tiles.
What happened is that the boiler is leaking and losing water. The water forms a puddle on the floor. The coupling of the extension cord that supplies the heater with power is now in the puddle of water.
I am renting this apartment and it looks unsave to me. Am I wrong?

Some pictures would be good
but it sounds unsafe to me.

Couple of bricks or other support in the pool of water to keep the cable off the floor.

Am I understanding correctly? There is a water heater plugged into an extension lead?

If I was you and your renting then you need to call your landlord and explain what is going on. Yes it is very unsafe and needs attention like yesterday.

How long have you been there , and have you have a EICR test? . And would your landlord fall into the "Crap end of the market type " ? . If the answer to my second question is NO then . YOu need to call them and demand one .And tell them you want a FULL inspection not a ÂŁ80 "walk past fast test" .And take pics and send it to them .Make sure they are FULLY aware .It needs sorting today/tomorrow

should read "Answer to first question" . You might have one but it might have been a "cash in hand , landlord happy type" result

OP seems to live in Toronto, so doubt they'd have an EICR.

It still needs sorting ASAP, and hopefully has been by now
