another customer of mine has been asked for periodic certidicate for smoke alarm system on an HMO. it currently has an LD2 grade D system with heads in all bedrooms. I have just replaced all the heads as were out of date anyway. but what form can use?

grade A no problem but I'm not aware of any periodic for grade D or am I being thick.

a quick bit of net research has thrown up a SYAM publication landlords fire safety log which looks to be ideal as can be used for contractors adopting an existing system.

You have installed new devices, and commissioned them, so on the part 6 form you will state "Existing system", A the extent of the system will be "new devices installed". Commission section will be db test etc of new devices.
