Went to a client the other day to fit two wall lamps, had to walk away as they were metal fittings and they had no earth on lighting cct.
told customer it would be best to rewire said cct or fit ceramic or plastic light fittings is this acceptable as she did not want me to rewire.

thanks and best wishes

Right move here mate......no earth...drop them class 1s and replace with class 2. Is the existing cable in a metallic conduit? Or some channel? Lighting cable being only 1mm or 1.5mm....should be plenty of room to get a fishtape in there and pull yourself a CPC in........

Thanks for the replies guys will tell the client the easiest way is to fit class 2 fittings, don' think they are in any type of conduit but will have to check, and dont' think they will go for a rewire of the lighting cct.

thanks again and best wishes.
