To test lightning conductors do i need to take additional training other that being a qualified 17th edition electrician?
If so do you know what the course is?

You don't need specific training, as long as you are competent to carry out the tests

However as with all things like this, going on a course for this type of work and passing it does go a long way to proving you are competent
