I had to hold back from laughing out loud in front of my dad when he had bought one of these for his house...
The alarm has a plug on it for power from a standard 13A socket rather than being hard-wired in like proper alarms.
I just have a vision of a burglar coming into the house, setting off the alarm and then tripping over a cable and it turning off. Just like in the Naked Gun with the bomb that's plugged in to the wall. :rofl:
Yes, I know it has Lead Acid backup batteries in it so that shouldn't happen and I appreciate that it's best when selling alarms in a DIY store or in Tescos that the alarm has a plug on it, makes it simpler and safer for Joe Public to install and they shouldn't be able to kill themselves by trying to spur off the lighting circuit or something, but it just made me chuckle to myself and I had to share my amusement.
