Just done an EICR and need to now work out how to fix some of the issues.

1 of which is - inside a consumer unit and in a void behind it some mice have been having a nibble at the cables. Number of cables where the red/black can be seen, lesser number where the copper can be seen.

How would you fix this if its impossible/unrealistic to change the cables?

Just looking to see if anybody has any other bright ideas!

Make a hole above where the mice have damaged the cables, disconnect them and drag them into an adaptable box with din rail connectors. Etc, etc.

Apparently ferret poop will not be noticeable to people but will be the equivalent of massive danger notices to Mickey and his pals.

FTE? Heat shrink if you can - if not cut back and crimp new cable in and heat shrink. just the same as extending circuits for D/B change really. Then cure the cause.

I must admit Andy I've never been close to a ferret, this "remedy" was one of my brother in law's ideas. The trick is (supposedly) to use old poo.
Either way I don't fancy going round collecting the stuff, I have a hard enough time clearing up after our dog.

Met some ferrets once at a house viewing when we ere looking to buy. The smell actually put me off the house altogether, even though thy lived in the garage!

Saw a bloke once use a ferret to run a draw cord through a pipe - most effective!
