If it's a completely new supply and meter they want, then it will be the DNO who have to do the work. Their website will likely have the appropriate application forms - This is for UK Power Networks who cover my area (but it may not be cheap). The DNO will provide the new service head, and their energy supplier will then supply the meter.

If it's just that they want a check meter to cover a sub part of their supply, like a granny flat, then you can buy meters to install yourself with it's own tail feed for the circuit(s) involved.

many thanks Darlec
No way I only need to look at the service head and not pulling or testing anything,
Basically the supply is good and all they want is after main fuse the tail to be in two one old meter and one they want me to install and register a new meter connecting to the existing supply as it will be only for hallway lights as landlord meter which is shared at the moment, so to supply and install and register a new meter to existing supply,
I think all I need it’s a block and tails and new meter?
than I will connect it to a twthree way RCD protected DB?
I just don’t know how to apply for new meter or what to do first?

No I only need to look at the service head It’s a TNS with 100 singleMain fuse entry supply coming to a new smart meter,

I think all I need it’s a Henley block and tails and new meter?
than I will connect it to a two or three way RCD protected DB?

If your customer wants it completely seperate from the existing meter then the DNO will have to supply a new set of tails and meter so that they know what is happening and everything stays metered and charged accordingly.

If the tenant just wants to see how much they are using for the communal areas then you want to be looking at henly blocking the tails after the existing meter and then splitting the tails to a check meter (which you can readily get) and the existing consumer unit.

If you need to speak to the DNO I think 105 is the number to call, it should direct you to whoever that is for the area you call in. (Not 100% as I haven't checked myself)
