Gets a phone call from my best customer Friday night, All site as gone Down no power anywhere, so after going through a few things on the phone it becomes clear it's the HV side, so told him to call western power who roll up at about 7pm that night , yeah deffo HV but not our side you will have to get your private HV company down.
Anyway up at 5.30 to get down and meet the Hv guys that deal with the site, I get met by the regular ground works crew and boss that's been down with me since October 2015 ( This is a massive project and will run until October 2017)
The poor sod had been up all night unable to sleep presuming it's one of his lads that's done something wrong ( Trenches all over site for obvious ground works ) Anyway HV Lad turns up at 9am Saturday and resets both HV Breakers ( 2 x 1000 kva Transformers ) Puts it down to a damaged emergency trip circuit with it taking both Breakers out and buggers off. We stayed on site until about 1pm doing other bits.

So there I am last night watching my Gold Rush boxset at 1am and I get a text message come through from estates manager begging me to ring him back if at all possible, I'm then on phone with him until 1.45 am, it's gone again, after going through all options he decides to wait until this morning to try and get them back down and puts me on standby ( It's worth noting customer is over an hour away with no traffic.
So off to bed I went at 2am, ----ed and turned all night and woke up at 7.30 rang him to find out the HV team were on their way to sort it and I didn't need to come. I am now sat here like a Zombie and don't know whether I need sleep or not.
What a weekend :confused::confused:

It's worth noting as well that the HV guys are £650.00 per man per callout, Think I may need to revise my prices in the future to all customers lol.

That is bad for both you and your customer.
The waiting and lack of being able to do anything can really get to you.
All the best for a recovery for you today and a resolution for your customer.
Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleeve of care!

The estates manager was toying with trying to sort it in the middle of the night when I came off the phone, bt too be fair to him he was more concerned about everyone's safety, so agreed to wait till daylight.

Here are a few photos to give the story a bit more depth, There is the Beautiful Ellison LV Panel that we deal with and also the 2 x tx and the HV Gear.
I managed to get the time curves for the LV panel last month Because we need to service it soon and get the oil sorted which is not the easiest to get hold of for the pots for these things, luckily i managed to find a really helpful 70 year Ellison specialist who had been dealing with them for 50 years.
It may seem sad to some but I love these old beauties, She is a Lady!!
Not like the cjheap rubbish of today.

Yeah Lee , from their point they got him up and running but to be fair they are a decent company and will probably strike a deal for my customer. They just installed another 1000kva tx in the building across from this one to run a load of machines we have just installed, it's a 20+ acre site.

Happy days a big project then. Surely its time for a cooked breakfast now?:)

Yeah mate, it started October 2015 and it will probably last until the end of next year, I have had minimum 2 of my lads there every week and sometimes 3. Also when the big project as finished we have the service contract for all 8 sites.
WE have moved 2 other sites for them in between all this ( Not on the same scale though ) So yes it has been a good job to land, hence the reason I was willing to answer the phone in the middle of the night.
