Discuss old thorn 2d square light fittings key in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Is that the triangle security bolt you mean? A 5mm 1/4 drive socket fits or might be 5.5mm but one or other.

IT is a nightmare with long nose pliers - it is security after all.
There may be someone who can measure against a socket but if I remember correctly it is 5 or 5.5mm Go prepared with the range of sizes and you won't fail - or order a key as above.

I have had similar issues with lamposts in the past.

I purchased a pair of cheap meterbox keys. The are a peice of metal folded into a triangle shape. You can use a pair of pliers to open the key to fit any triangle size.
