Hi, i have a client who would like a sensor in the entrance to a car port that will switch on a couple of ordinary 4 foot fluorescent lights. Can someone please advise if I will need a special type of sensor to operate these lights as opposed to ordinary lamps? Thanks.

Any lighting PIR with a relay output, which most have, will do the job. I've used the Superswitch Spectra 200 (TLC, SS 6016) for various lighting loads including fluorescent, without a problem.
