I have just seen the little giant dark horse ladders (Little Giant 24 in 1 Ladders - https://www.midlandladders.com/Little-giant-24-in-1-system) and they look fantastic in all but one way....

What I like about my werner is that it has a built in tray at the top that just folds out with the ladder, I use it every day for putting my screwdrivers/drills etc on when I am on the ladder. I can see that the little giant has a 'project tray' that you can attach separately, my question is how easy and quick does it attach? Is there anyone that uses these ladders with that tray? Can you carry the ladder around with it on or do you have to carry it separately?

Basically any info on ways of holding tools on this ladder would be good.

Cheers all :)

for those prices i'd expect 22 carat gold plating.

For me I think it's the fact that they would take the place of 4 other ladders.

I could use them in place of the ladder I have for stairs, the small A frame ladder, the large A frame ladder and the extension ladder. This gives me more room in the van.

Further positive points are they are well built so should last and very sturdy due to the sticky out bits at the bottom, hence safe.

But, I just don't like the fact it doesn't have a built in place for tools.

ps.. they are not the ones Buzz has shown above, they are these..

my own experience of combination ladders is mixed.
heavy, clunky, hard to set up in confined spaces but as you say versatile.
Since I got rid of mine I haven't really missed them TBH.
But I do have 2 sets of fiberglass steps in the van and a 3 tier set on the roof when required.

myold combi set cost about £30 in 1989. they have a detachable tool platform which has rhe ability to tip up and splatter everything on the floor, esp. when you have a load of small screws on it.

Rare earth magnet either slid on the top rung and the ends bunged or just sat on the rung itself. Tools will stick no bother, as for bits and bobs, use a can held by said magnet

lister. pm sent to you. nothing to do with this thread.

I've had mine for 4? years-ish, but have never used the clip on tool tray, probably costs as much as some steps! I rely on pockets and tool belts as I also need to carry the tools when on the ground. If I had the carry space, I probably wouldn't have gone down the Dark Horse route, but I have a pick up with limited load length, and also a need to be over 3.5m off the ground on fibreglass steps. They're heavy, but very stable.

They come with special female adaptor that provides suction twice a day, not a bad deal really!
