1. if installing on a 3 phase system can i go up to 4kw per phase or is it limited.

2. am thinking of doing the pv course then getting mcs, are you guys that fit it really busy with it or do you do it around your normal i.e electrical life????

any help would be great thanks

Under G83 youre allowed up to 16A per phase anything over this it becomes G59 from which ive heard can be mega expensive!!

The PV course is a very good course and will help out loads, there is quite a lot of work out there at the moment just get youre self a good salesman and become friends with a roofer and a scaffolding firm !!!!

Amount of work depends on your area and how many installers and customers with cash. Start by doing the research first before you spend shedloads of cash on training and MCS. Allow a good 4 months for MCS accreditation - the quality manual takes a good while to put together and be careful about which pv course you attend - some are pretty basic.

We're booked up until 2nd week in April but doing an 80 hour week to get up to speed with paperwork, customers, sales etc. Most of our learning started after the pv course and it's not stopping yet! Think of it like a driving test - you only start learning when you've passed it :)

Installing on 3 phase depends to some extent on your DNO some allow up to 4kwp but a lot only allow up to 3.68kwp - you'll need to ask yours what their stand is. Again some DNO's are really helpful with G59 and others less so - it makes sense to make friends with them pretty quickly after you qualify if you want to make sensible progress.
