SJIB (Scottish) Certification Scheme SJIB pay rates, Unite, All deciding bodies

Hi all.

I have a couple of simple questions i can't find answers from from anyone. Is there any indication to wether a new pay scheme is to be set up (scotland), or are they all still arguing with each other? I have tried to contact unite (no answer, and no one returning my calls), i have tried the SJIB and as nice as the girl was on the phone, she didnt provide any answers. And before the usual suspects on here start having a go, I AM GRATEFULL I HAVE A JOB AT THE MINUTE. My point being, it is becomming a strong possibility that i move away from the electrical industry altogether as it has become apparant there are other jobs that pay the same if not more with less time/stress and technical aspects. Chase the money i hear you cry?!? Dam right, i have a family to think about and want to know where i stand.

After voicing my concerns to my boss, he has now offered me a new deal, (no extra money), but sponsor me through college to help push for my techs card. My faith in the electrical industry has been restored!

That's a fair deal, After all, once you have that Technicians card and the qualifications to back it up your not going to be tied to this company. Not that you have any plans to do so, just that your horizons and opportunities will be that much broader!!
