I'm 24, I have my NVQ and Technical Certificate level 2, CSCS card and few basic tools, which I got after Completing my PTA Electrical Course in college back in 2013.

Finding it really hard to get an apprenticeship since then, I've sent out countless CV's and applied to many places directly via Careers Wales and other sites but no joy. Can't really afford to take time off work to do work experience due to bills etc.

With the chances of me getting an apprenticeship looking slim, Would it be worth my time going the domestic route and paying out to do my 17th Edition and Inspection & testing?.

I know this wont make me a fully qualified electrician but I'm really looking for anyway into the trade and out of my current job (RETAIL) :censored: which was originally part time to cover college but has now ended up full time :cuss:

consider agency work as a spark's mate. £8 -£10/hour. get some practical experience. then do evening college to finalise qualifications.
