What tools are available that replace a sharp knife to strip the insulation off cables?
One that seems popular is the Jokari tool.
Anyone use this? What is your opinion of this tool? Any drawbacks?
Any other tools out there?

Cheers

What, like the SWA stripper in your profile pic???:rolleyes:

jokaris are brilliant for stripping FP, ansd screened multipair cables, without damaging screen. anything else i use knife or cutters mate.

johnboy, it's a tool for stripping long tails of FP that i'm looking for. which jokari do you use? is it the clam shell type ? or the once around and pull knife type?

tried the jokari.it's ok on FP, but it will never replace a sharp knife for rare T-Bone.

Iyt is funny ... oooo you cant use a stanley knife because they are dangerouse no , they are not !! its how people use them .and again it the idiotic world we live in how many times you see people cutting to wards them realy its about education not banning it the simple there are more people injured in cars than using knifes so when are they going to ban the car then !!!

A Sharp knife is a good knife , and if you use a blunt knife you are more likly to injure yourself and the reason for that is due to the fact you are using more pressure , and are more likly to slip and if any one tell me im not allowed to use a stanley knife i will want to have a good reason why and not just well lots have people have injured them selves

next thing will be a short course and certificate: c&g 2175: safe use of sharp tools, level 1: pliers, cutters and screwdrivers. level 2: knives, tube cutters and hacksaws. level 3: practical.

I love seeing all this crap like prohibition of knives on site , Do they ban angle grinders and nail guns. what a load a s**teeeeeeeee

you can't ban nail guns. the wood butchers would have to relearn the principle of the screw.

they invented the nail gun so that joiners could use the hammer for screws.

I use a Mora electricians knife, dirt cheap and very sharp! Also have a Jokari for flex, simple operation. Clamp round cable twist left twist right and pull, sleeving off.

i have a certificate for the use of knifes and meat slicers so if i go to site and im told i cant use a stanley knife ill whip out my 15" chefs knife and see what they say about that lol
