Un-sound electrical connection of live conductors

Guys can you explain what may result of un-sound electrical connection of live conductors? Your advices will help me alot, thanks✌✌

Un- sound electrical connection- i.e. dirty/loose,
Adds resistance to the circuit,
This produces two unwanted effects,

One - it will limit the current,
Meaning things may not work correctly.

Two - The resistance produces unwanted heat,
This is usually what causes maximum problem,
The wires heat up, damaging insulation on it and nearby conductors,
also can damage the j-box, and even cause fire.
Not to mention letting the magic smoke get out !

Every electrical joint and connection of live conductors is required by the wiring regulations to have adequate conductance, insulation, mechanical strength and protection.
dmxtothemax has covered the first one (conductance) well and this is what it sounds like the question is asking, however you may also need to consider insulation e.g. can two live conductors short out because they are poorly insulated; mechanical strength e.g. can the conductors be accidentally pulled out of their connection due to failure to secure the cable; protection e.g. are they in a wet environment and not adequately enclosed so that water may envelop the joint causing an RCD to operate.
