Discuss What pets do you have, and what pets have you had? in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

No matter what pet you have, give them a little extra cuddle tonight from us . We just had our big, brave, beautiful lad put to sleep this afternoon. I'm busy trying to numb the hurt with alcohol but it doesn't seem to be working just now.
Here's him on the beach

I feel for you having been through that myself.........

That's a bummer Trev. I'll raise a glass to your mate tonight myself.

I grew up with a little black & white collie who eventually went to my grandparents' when he got too old for rowdy boys. We inherited two other dogs when my brother couldn't look after them, plus a few goats over the years.

Currently my wife and I have a little Persian cross, but would like to get another kitten or puppy once we're in a larger place.

My heart goes out to you it really does , I have lost 2 dogs and the one I have now has a heart murmur , its so hard , just think of all the good times you had with him and keep him alive in you're memories , so sad ..

I couldn't be without my dog now, the last 5 years have flown by.
I am lucky though due to our lass being a lady of leisure,it means there is always someone in the house with jack, it really isn't fair to have a dog then leave it alone all the time.
here is a good rule guide for anyone thinking of buying a dog, it may be a bit soppy for some but it makes perfect sense.

I knew I shouldn't have read that as I'm a soppy old git. I wonder how many dog lovers read that and immediately gave their dog a hug? I know I did!

This is my dog. I know they don't have the best reputation but mine Is as good as gold especially with the kids.

A little personal note.
I have recently had some fairly significant surgery so, much of the dog walking has fallen to my dear wife. She is also my official carer. The dog, and we've had him just a few months, is the unofficial carer.

Yesterday, I had a particularly bad day. I slept a lot and the dog kept an eye on me. Is a sixth sense or is he just thinking that the old boy is not behaving normally. Whatever, he is there.

Today, I was over that and walked the dog five times. He was a happy chappy. We have parks and woods and he can run around off the lead. And comes back upon request. "lead". He come trotting up, and sits down ready.

So we got to the park and, as usual, I let him off the lead. OK. I laid down. I expected him to run about and find one of his pee trees. No. He just laid right beside me and licked my hand and waited for me to move.

Certainly Mr Unofficial Carer in my book.

Here's our cat, it's as old as the hills but it's still going strong.

An elegant stance......
Happy, confident. He has come a long way in six months from that shy fellow who wouldn't even get in the car..
