Thats crackers. I have them on my van and din't even think to say!

Might be worth checking pal, because if you do have an accident, even if somebody else is to blame, their or your insurance might try to wriggle out of it and say you're not insured as per your policy?

Perhaps ring and ask "IF you put them on your van is there a change in premium?" rather than saying you have them on already for now?

I guess it's the old story of having to notify ANY mods to your car, otherwise the insurance company may not pay out. Probably wouldn't affect things most times, but the one day you crash into someone's £200,000 Rolls-Royce then they're sure as hell going to find a way to get out of paying the claim out! "What's that Sir, you've fitted a stripe to your car, Oh dear, sorry". Daz

My insurers confirmed the following:

'I can confirm winter tyres are perfectly fine so long as they are the correct size and specification for the vehicle. I hope this clears things up.'​
