Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can help me!

We are currently re-wiring our property in the form of the labour intensive element (wall chasing, installing back boxes etc.) and our family electrician will be connecting everything and installing the new consumer unit later this month (I believe we are running most of the cables and he will be checking it all).

We have installed two double sockets next to each other (connected via a galvanised coupler and brass bushes etc.) and connected a conduit adapter in the chase to welcome a short piece of 20mm round conduit to go into the floor void.

My question is when wiring this (on a ring) we will effectively have two 2.5mm T&Es going in between the back boxes and I ask 1) is this possible, 2) is this the correct way or should we have a chase for each back box?

I’m a little concerned it’s going to be a tight fit or impossible.

Hopefully I’m just being paranoid as I don’t think my neighbour can take anymore banging lol.

Thanks in advance,

Jamie

P.s. pics for example

It’s the same as the 20mm drops to the floor… you’ll still have 2 x 2.5s vertically going to an individual double socket.

Keep the cables straight, there won’t be a problem.

You need to peel back that embossed wallpaper before filing the chases. If you plaster with it in place you'll end up with a raised area which will show through future decorating.
