REALLY.

The OP states he's a spark with many years experience¬!

Yes, but mainly in maintenance and now retired 7yrs. When not using your skills much, your knowledge diminishes a bit. But you know your 3 posts to me have all been negative with no thoughts at all of helping someone. You and Lanky Willy do not do this excellent forum any favours. Many thanks to Davesparks and Telectrix

I think if your original post had been worded a bit better you may have got a better response, especially if you had included what you have just put in this last post. But it's sometimes tricky to get across the sentiment in words on a computer screen. It's the same with text messages - they sometimes get misunderstood (context etc.). At least everyone's happy again now. Daz

Hi, I,m running a supply to my neighbour,s new garage and would appreciate advice on cable size. It will be 3 core SWA running underground. The max load will be around 8A and that only for small periods(power tools) other than that only lighting, and total run will be about 30mts from house DB. I advised him to get 4mm but now think 2.5mm would do. I,m ex maintenance and retired so am very rusty regarding design calcs.
Sorry to ask further, but if he decides to take his supply from ring main to avoid approx 15mt run under floor boards will same cable size(2.5mm) be adequate if I spur it via FCU
Thanks
Ib/In/It/Cf/Vd remember these ?

You come over as some desperate person with little sympathy for anyone. I really do not wish YOUR help. Over and out. Thanks to most on the forum.

Well it is very hard for anyone on here to differentiate between the person who is genuinely a retired electrician and the person who says that to get help with their diy project.
