You whacked it through a bonded gas pipe:D

That would be just my luck too. But this time I eyeballed the services BEFORE getting out the drill ...

Well done with the earth rod but I'm a little concerned regards the tea, please tell me that it wasn't left in that half consumed state, there's nothing more amateurish than a spark who struggles with his brew

Yes yes yes, it's all those things, and it's 18 Ohms !
Still plenty of scope for things to go wrong with recessing the rod cover into the flagging stones. Where is a stone mason when you need one?

Could have core drilled the hole to start? Wonder what your reading would have been if you had ATT off? So you were doing Ze and you should mind you:cool:

How are you going to connect to the rod and run the earthing conductor?

Mark the duct cover, stitch/chain drill the flags, then gently does it with a scutch chisel.

I like the array of lump hammers, its like the 3 bears. Did you have to use all 3? I'm half expecting Goldilocks to show up now :D

Very satisfying when a job goes better than planned, well done. :)

Ah.. yes the art of stone masonry, a dwindling profession, much like most skilled trades I guess. Everybody wants a degree and work in IT these days. :)

You know what, I'd love to do actual decorative masonry as a profession. It's a trade much in demand and the job satisfaction must be immense.

Only thing is, it looks bloody difficult, and a lot of work at heights that would see me sweating and palpitating myself into a right state.
