News Does anybody still have an issue with the forum style NOT loading colour?

If the forum is colourless, please scroll all the way down to the bottom of the forum and there's a tiny paint brush on the left. Use that to change the style, try a couple, one or two should work.

I've been getting the annoying transparent text for a while now. Even after choosing the blue and white format. I've now switched to the orange format though and it seem OK for the time being.

For some reason the threads aren't showing at the latest post position again though now. I have to scroll right down tk find the latest reply.

I'm getting this with many, but not all threads. I thought at first that might have been the "memory" lost during the recent upgrade, but it's happening now with many threads that have been started since then.

It's a cache issue which should be ironing out now. Was related to a rogue add on I was using for something.

Only clocked it as forums not using it were fine.

The add on maker couldn't replicate it but now they've had loads of reports of the same thing, they took a look at their add on, found the issue and issued an update, I installed it this morning and we are now running that.

Should be fine for brand new users / visitors now (or you guys on new devices or browsers).

But us with dodgy cache copy's need to erase your cache, close the browser down fully, load the browser back up and visit the forum directly using the URL and it should force your browser to fetch a new fixed copy.

That all said, I have thought this was fixed about 6 times now. So let's see.

Yeh still comes up transparent sometimes but just refresh page a few times till I get it blue /black .tried paint brush but refers back to tranparent now and again .dosnt bother me tbh

It may calm down today I think I found the issue eventually.

It's an issue with the forum softwares own built in cache sysyem being rewritten, then some add ons we use hadn't updated theirs to match. So they're all catching up now it's happening less and less but then the admin control panel does it. And that doesn't use the forum design at all. So that proves its not my coding doing it which I'm pleased about ha

So I posted above ^^ in transparent and then used the selector at the bottom of page to go to blue. Went into my messages and it went transparent again, came out and clicked the banner notification to Westy's comment and it's flipped back blue again.

Try that peeps. Change the style to blue and white if yours isn't.

I can see me installing a fresh forum at this rate and just use our database and start again with the customising.

Mine's fine, and has been ever since I found the paintbrush at the page bottom. The forum clock went nuts for a while a few days ago, but apart from that, no problems at all.

I'm on it don't worry.

Brand new visitors often get it (try incognito and see) so that's a massive issue.

I've got lots of forums not doing it at all like www.tilerstalk.co.uk/bb for eg

Yep - same here. Although something really weird happend last night - was viewing on my phone and got transparent, refreshed the cache on my phone browser (Firefox) and then after logging back in succesfully was getting error messages saying I had to valiate my account. Ignored that but have logged in on PC now just fine (although transparent again).

Yep, I have this issue.

Redone the site again and think I've clocked it.

On any device you have that's loading white pages only, clear the cache and log back in it should be okay now.

This is done with a cookie, right? it's not an account setting. Mine goes back to being barebones white after logging off. I don't mind it, even loads faster with my archaic internet connection.
Browser clears cookies/cache/temp files upon closing it.

I’ve been on the blue quite stable for a while now, but yesterday, just after the advertisement problem was fixed, it switched back to plain white… which I do find annoying as the drop down menus become transparent, and cannot read the text on them.

Just refreshed the page and it came back blue.


I’m pretty sure it’s device specific, so should be cookies… but maybe some other sweet baked product like a brownie.

Mine has been fine for a while but yesterday mine went back to black and white. The only scheme that would show blue was the 'edit this' one. I'm back on the normal setting now and it's all back to the blue setup again.
