Can a bad 3-Way switch cause another not to work, thus preventing either switch from turning on the light? Is this always the case?

Thanks

short answer, yes it can.
check it out with a volt meter and you will know.

YES ! FOR SURE. 3 way switchs are wired differantly to normal switchs, and if you look at the circuit for a little while, you will understand why !

Thanks for the replies.

I was told that by an electrician's assistant and to wanted to verify.

Is it always the case that if one 3-way is bad another won't work? And do switches have a life span?

Thanks again. Really appreciate your time.
