Discuss Bathroom extract fan installation, flex outlet or not? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hello all,

I've been reading posts on here about bathrrom extracts, and got me thinking. Do you guys install a flex outlet adjacent to them or do you simply go straight in to the fan. I've always used a flex outlet, as these things never tend to last over 2/3 years and it makes replacement easier, but it is probably not the best looking way to do it.

Cheers

Tom

Flex outlet plates are not IP rated for the environment.. your isolation point outside the bathroom or zone gives you the means of direct wiring into the fan as mentioned steam can condense and run down into the connection plate so dont do this in future.
