Hi

I'm looking at connecting two or more groups of panels on a roof which are separated by velux windows. What's the best way of connecting them? I've seen installations with two DC wires strung between them over the top of the veluxes (aaaaagh!!) but was wondering if there's a better way. For instance would it be better to lift the tiles and thread the cable along the battens so it lies nicely between felt and tiles?

Anyone got any preferred methods?

Thanks

Your method works for me and better than laying them on top of the tile. May be consider some Koppex for added protection. Labelled up to indicate them as DC Cables.

Not really, a roof is not a wall or partition as envisaged in that reg. Not much risk of someone trying to hang a picture on the roof and banging a nail through a tile.

@BruceB Thx,

@MikeXl426 remember to add mechanical protection to the cable where you slip it under the tile though, it's no different than when the cable comes out 'first' time, you still need to ensure weatherproofness etc.
