Hello

Have got an install coming up in a couple of weeks have to remove a 3phase 40Amp supply feeding a Condenser for a multi split AC Unit

What will leave me with 3 spare ways on the board but we then putting in 6 units pulling around 10-12A FLC so was going to run 3 radial circuits then spur of each radial. There is a busbar what i wanted to tap off and ran a 6way board for each unit but the main switch in the basement only says RAISING BUSBAR and there are two in the building and with no drawings dont no what one does what and cant really shut anything down as there are comms rooms in the building.

Any help if poss

Thanks

James

Find the busbar routes which will run vertical ,and will be accessable on each floor ( there is usually a service cupboard on each floor ) install fused busbar tap off unit to supply your a/c board the tap off connections are usually at 600mm /1200mm spacings .

Just make sure you dont use a dedicated busbar allocated to comms rooms etc

Did check the run though the riser of the building there are no isolation on each floor what makes it really. Just a cable what runs the length of the buildi ng the is terminated into a hozontial busbar. i think years ago there was some main plant that use to be supplied from there

There won;t always be an isolator on each floor but there will be a tap off point usually a black or grey cover , removing this gives access to the busbars .to which the tap off can be clamped to
