Would normal twin and earth be ok for lighting in a home steam room or do I need heat resistant?

It'll be run above steam room on cold side of insulation as regs recommends, but being for lights, obviously end will be pulled through insulation.

Cable to steam generator will be standard 10mm grey cable also or am I looking at some heat resistant 10mm cable?

Thanks.

What did your electrician that is designing it say?

Steam room? So a sauna then? Classed as a special location. Is this commercial or domestic?

Hi - it's a Special Location detailed in Section 703. Cables are mentioned in 703.512.2 and likely you will need cable rated 170 deg C + (silicon based rather than pvc for example).

Thanks Wilko.

It's domestic.

Yes, I've already seen the regs, all wiring will be on the cold side of insulation (703.52), except the ends of the lighting wires, for obvious reasons.

I'll have to use the silicone based cable for that then I guess.
