Discuss cartridge fuse board inspection in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

Isolate what?, if it's office power& lighting it'll be on 1 phase or split over seperate phases then pull the appropriate fuse(s) , any 3 phase equipment will have local isolation, any single phase equipment will have local isolation.

when i said isolate i mean isolate a 3 phase car lift from the board its got an isolater next to it but i thought 17th regs said you need to isolate all phases at same time is that just the isolater

All you need is to be able to isolate all the phases at one go which is what the isolator does. No need to pull the fuses if you are working on the lift, if you need to replace the isolator however, you will need to remove the fuses and put them in your pocket

I would do the same as Eddie except I would remove as much load as possible before switching of the isolator
