Hi,
Does adaptor burn while off ?

Why I am asking this question is that one customer mentioned in his review his extension cord( spike guard or adaptor) had got burnt when adaptor main switch was off.

Faulty switch?

Possibly caused by overloading the adaptor… too much plugged into it?

It may turn the power off…. But could still be a fault developed between hot and ground on the supply side.

So, yes it is possible
