Someone installed an industrial clock there?

Way more information will be needed to answer this question. Perhaps a video/ audio recording to start.
 
Expansion/contraction of pipes maybe. As above, would need more info.
 
We are shooting a bit in the dark.
Is there an element of 'humming' to the ticking? A failed 2 way or 3 way hot water / heating valve is a possibility.
Maybe a good first question is "What is behind your bathroom wall?". Is it an airing cupboard?
